nice stay in the historic China town of Singapore

great location, slightly run down but the hotel has a unique charm. first two nights I wasn’t satisfied with my room, but staff provided me with a beautiful room for the rest of my stay.

Would I stay here again? Probably not. I missed the big hotel amenities & better storage in room.

Beautifully decorated hotel lobby and Bar/restaurant area. Opium Room 2 has in room bar set up for self prepared cocktails! Friendly staff and eager to help. Don't always achieve what they promised but they always try!

Unstable in room wi-fi connection. Shower drain was plugged upon arrival, repaired while we were told to be in our room. Time wasted while on holidays. Security safe inoperable upon arrival. Replaced while bathroom drain being repaired, again, time wasted while on holidays. Loose light bulbs in room resulted in flickering lighting. Only one pillow choices - feather filled, not enough support Insufficient storage chest and cloth hanging capacity for a 1 week stay.

Location was good

Room theme was way too dark and dreary, with a lot of noise and clutter - making the room feel way smaller than it was. Lighting seemed off too. Just felt the real room was a far cry from the pictures. Toilet facilities - plumbing at the bath tub was poor, towels are thin and cheap. For the price that was paid, the whole experience was disappointing.

Great stay, gorgeous hotel

The hotel is a somptuous shophouse in the heart of Singapore, perfectly decorated, and the vibes of the place are amazing. We loved the atmosphere of our room, all red and black, very comfy, very well decorated. The bed was really comfortable and the night very quiet, which is hyper important for me. The staff has been extremely nice and helpful, and we got a little surprise in our room for our anniversary celebration. Thanks a lot for this sweet gesture :) The bar, food and drinks, were excellent and my husband enjoyed his whisky-based cocktail very much.

The breakfast is over expensive for what you get, (even without taking into account the 35% charge of in-room service). I read a lot of good comments and was ready to pay the price for something memorable, but it was very disappointing. I’ve had many room service breakfast that came memorable, but this one was super disappointing. The menu emphasises the superior quality of the products, so for 22 dollars for a granola I was expecting more than 70% of yoghurt + few fruits and a tiny bit of muesli sprinkled on top. Merci Marcel’s granola is far far better for only 9 SGD. Please check it out. The plate of fruits also was sad and small.

Overall, had a really pleasant stay.

Gorgeous design and classy presentation, a clash of old and modernity. Very good place for photoshoot as I had used for my own.

Staff were fabulous. Food in bar with club room was amazing.

Location was fabulous for exploring Chinatown Breakfast was ok but a bit basic … no hot food available

We had ti change room as bed in Opium Suite had railings around it so you couldn’t even get out of one side of it nor even use a bedside table. Bed in suite which they moved us too was much better but you had to climb up a step to get into the shower and bath… quite unsafe.

Unique boutique hotel in great location

Unique building and layout - renovated hotel in old shop houses. Staff are friendly and helpful, providing tips on how to book Grab cars, MRT tickets etc. Great location with lots of bars and restaurants in the area.

It is a hotel located that is conveniently located.

The location of hotel is convenient to explore Chinatown and neighbouring places by foot. Room is of a reasonable size and quite well maintain.

The bathroom especially shower area is small. The pillows are not too comfortable. The bed also makes squeaky sound.
